| INSTRUCTIONS: |
- Hone point; flatten barb. Trim thick, 3 x body length clump of deer hair; remove fuzz, tamp tips even. Tie atop shank, tips extending twice body length beyond bend. Tie 2 strands Orion yarn (one of combinations specified) along shank. Secure at bend. Advance thread to head space.

- Tie hackle feather in concave side down, tip extending beyond eye. Separate deer hairs, leaving 1/4 for tail. Stretch remainder forward atop shank; secure hair underbody behind head space. Wrap parallel (not twisted) Orion strands forward to form "ribbed body; tie off at wing root. Trim excess.

- Lift hair tips and apply sufficient wraps at base to maintain vertical wing posture.

- Spin hackle fully and equally behind and in front of wing: tie off, clip excess. Form a small head, whip finish, cement.
