John Harken of The Patient Angler, Bend, Oregon is loath to take credit for originating any pattern certainly not this one, his improvement on the standard Woolly Bugger. Best combinations: trout, steelhead- black hackle/olive body, sizes 4 to 8; bass - brown hackle/body, sizes 6 and 8. Lead eyes are available in sizes mini to large. |

| INSTRUCTIONS: |
- Pinch hook barb flat. Hone point sharp. Leave head space and tie in a pair of lead eyes atop shank. Coat with blank head cement; allow to dry.

- Wrap to above point of barb. Tie in one and a half shank length tail, using a generous clump of marabou; half-hitch. Tie in three strands of "Krystal Hair" each side of tail; strands should extend tail.

- Tie, in sequence, directly above hook: long hackle feather (tip first), two 6 inch lengths of "Krystal Hair" and a length chenille. Advance thread to eyes. Wrap chenille body forward. Secure.

- Wrap "Krystal Hair" rib forward to eyes. Secure; clip excess. Next palmer forward adjacent to rib and secure, then spin to form a hackle collar behind the eyes. Tie off; trim excess. Advance thread to head space.

- Stretch chenille forward atop shank between eyes. Secure; trim excess. Form a small head. Whip finish. Clip thread and cement.
